Alan Beattie Herriot DA ARBS graduated from Duncan of Jordonstone College of Art in 1974.

His paintings are represented in many private collections and his sculptures are on public display both in Britain and abroad. He works in his Howgate studios, near Edinburgh, in Scotland.

One of his larger paintings, 'The Fairie Queene' has been shortlisted for, and exhibited in the 'Not the Turner Prize' national painting competition in London.
